Stelios Tavern is located in one of the most beautiful vineyards of Larisa with numerous squares and playgrounds -a delicious escape from Larisa's everyday city life. The restaurant mainly serves authentic traditional recipes by using fresh ingredients. Taverna tou Steliou used to be an old tavern as well as a small grocery store. In time it added 4 small tables for serving their friends and neighbors who wanted to try the wine and raki which he made by Stelios himself. Stelios became particularly popular in the wider area, when it became known for his cod. People rushed from surrounding areas to experience Stelios reciepies and especially his perfectly served cod, something that he is now proudly demonstrating to his vast clientele from all over Greece. Taverna tou Steliou is still a family business, keeping its secret reciepies only for its clients. This knowledge coupled with the desire and ability to convert raw materials in natural products such as wine, vinegar, homemade jams has resulted in the authentic and pure flavors like those Greeks grew up with. The cuisine is now enriched with new flavors in order to became more attractive, while retaining the old formula as its inheritance. The space was renovated and expanded, following modern trends in Greece, keeping something from the memories of the past in order to meet expectations of the visitors who visit the restaurant every day and can not even find a small spot to enjoy the food! Nowadays, Stelios natural successor -his son Chef Dimitrios Gkoltsios is proved to be what the restaurant needed in order to reinvent itself in order to meet contemporary dining needs! After extensive training in Athens, he took back his experiences and flavours in order to cater for his hometown crowd.
